Baby Educational Toys
Are you looking at getting baby educational toys?
This is sometimes quite a challenge as a baby seems to be doing so little and on the other hand, there are so many to choose from. So, how do you choose a baby learning toy?
Babies have limited visual perception. So, toys in bright contrasting colors are a good choice. Newborns get quite fascinated with activity centers and mobiles. As they grow beyond the newborn stage, a very wide range of possibilities are available.
Mobiles are great for calming down babies and to re-direct their energy to something that has color, movement, dimension and sometimes also music.
While typically mobiles used to be baby crib toys, they are now very popular baby educational toys that can be attached securely to your baby carrier or stroller. They come with little toys attached and rattles that keep the babies happy and absorbed.
Who hasn’t had a rattle as a baby? They have been popular for ages. They are made of plastic, wood or cloth and are brightly colored. They now come in all kind of shapes and this includes famous cartoon characters as well. Sounds can range from bell type to dull sounds of wooden rattles.
Rattles now also come with other dangling pieces like keys. They also have smiling
faces. Babies try and grab these and go into a little discovery trip of their own, having fun and developing at the same time.
Stationary activity centers are good when you want babies safe at one spot while you are busy with other things. Its better for when the baby can sit up unassisted, typically about 4 to 6 months. Most of these stationary activity centers can be adjusted to a few heights.
There are some types of baby educational toys that have survived for ages and there must be good reason for this. Look out for building blocks, stackable plastic rings, shape sorters and interlocking plastic over sized beads. If you like wooden baby toys, there are also wooden rings of different colors. These wooden rings are typically more expensive.
Shape sorters work well for matching activities (matching the piece shape with the hole shape), recognizing shapes and colors and also for hand-eye coordination.
Building blocks are very versatile and allows a lot of creativity for the toddler.

Go for soft building blocks for small toddlers. Baby blocks teach babies how to stack and this develops their hand-eye coordination. These are also soft and safer. Of course, they come beautifully decorated with pictures in bright colors.
Some of these building blocks also come with other activities embedded in them which increases their learning value. Of course, the blocks come in nice colors and some even have rattles inside.
These blocks come in different sizes. The bigĀ ones are more stable and easiest to stack and are the best for toddlers.
Besides stacking rings and building blocks, the other favorite is nesting cups. These are made up of cups of different sizes and colors so that they can either be stacked or nested. It is one the good toddler educational toys. Also increases hand-eye coordination.
Push and pull toys give many hours of fun for toddlers as well as give them their independence.

A walking push toy helps with walking skills when they initial start. The toddler’s balance is not so good at this times and this makes a push toy useful for the toddler who had just started walking.
Cool thing about some these push toys are that they come with space to put in other small toys. And some even come with noise when being pushed.
Pull along toys are for good toys for toddlers who are steadier on their feet.
